The scene the poster describes is familiar to many: management talks AI transformation nonstop, a normal project can't get budget without an AI label, well-functioning processes are forcibly stuffed with chatbots, and employees know full well the results are dubious—but questioning it amounts to "not embracing change." "Psychosis" is of course hyperbole, but the organizational symptom it points to is concrete: judgment replaced by slogans, and whoever shouts loudest is safe.
Why It Resonated So Much
Of the hundreds of replies in the comments, most were "are you working at our company?" This collective claiming shows the problem is structural: executives facing the AI expectations of their board and the capital markets face career risk if they don't follow suit, and following suit is forgivable even if it's wasteful, so the pressure cascades down layer by layer into a company-wide performance. There were also calm voices pointing out that the internet, cloud, and blockchain eras all had the same mania, except that AI's actual capability is stronger this time, making the bubble and the real value harder to tell apart. For those caught inside, there's not much they can do; staking their résumé on projects that can actually be delivered and staying away from pure sloganeering is probably one of the few things within their own control.
