Lovable is one of the fastest-rising AI startups of the past couple of years, and what it does can be summed up as "describe it in a sentence, generate a website or app ready to go live"—the most breakout product of the vibe-coding wave. Its user count is climbing fast, and the compute it burns has risen right along with it. Signing a multi-year deal with Google Cloud this time is, on one hand, locking in the supply and price of models and compute, and on the other, a sign that it's confident enough in its own growth curve.
The Cloud Providers' New Battlefield
The real story is actually on Google's side. AI-native startups are the customers cloud providers most want to grab right now—their usage grows several times faster than traditional enterprises', and signing a leading one locks in a revenue curve for years to come, while also binding in the provider's own models on the side. Microsoft has OpenAI, Amazon invested in Anthropic, and Google is recruiting application-layer stars like this in batches. The startup got a discounted price and also accepted the cost of being ecosystem-bound—every company does that math differently.
